- Carpenter Bee -

Carpenter bees are wood-dwelling insects that bore into wooden structures to create nests. These nests consist of a network of holes and tunnels, forming cavities where they lay eggs and continue their life cycle. Female carpenter bees are jet black, while males are golden brown. If left unaddressed, carpenter bees can cause irreversible damage to wooden structures. Prompt intervention is crucial. Our method involves treating the cavities with a diatomaceous earth essential oil blend, then sealing the holes to prevent further entry. We also use sticky traps to capture any remaining carpenter bees outside the nest. While this removal process does not preserve the life of the bee, it is a pesticide-free solution to the issue. After removal, we can either temporarily deter future nesting with an essential oil spray or, ideally, recommend painting the wood to prevent future infestations.
